Sergey Bubka, vice-president of the IAAF and one of the candidates for the federation’s presidency at the upcoming general assembly in China, confirmed that the Doha Diamond League meeting was a resounding success both organisationally and technically, and that this was nothing new for Doha, which has grown accustomed to excelling in organising major sporting events. Bubka said that what reinforced the meeting’s success was the fact that a large number of federation presidents were keen to travel to Doha to follow it.
