Ukrainian Sergey Bubka, vice-president of the IAAF, arrived in Doha to attend part of the meeting of the Asian Athletics Association and its development committee, of which he is a member at the IAAF. Also taking part was Emirati advisor Ahmed Al Kamali, president of the UAE Athletics Federation and a member of the IAAF Council. It is worth noting that Bubka had confirmed to the president of the Asian federation that he would attend, during a meeting held in Monaco for the IAAF
