Qatar Cup for youth and girls set to start at Aspire

Competition in the Qatar indoor athletics cup for the youth and girls categories for the 2014-2015 season begins on Monday on the track at the Aspire Academy of Sporting Excellence, organised by the athletics federation for both categories from 19-21 January. Ten clubs are taking part in the challenge – Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Al Jaish, Qatar SC, Al Ahli, Al Arabi, Al Wakrah, Al Gharafa, Al Khor and Al Shamal – in addition to athletes from the Girls’ Training Centre. The federation’s offices hosted the championship’s technical meeting, attended by Abdulhakim Al Amri, board member and head of the federation’s technical committee, Yaqoub Abdullah, head of the preparation and arrangements committee, and Dr Jabbar Al Kaabi, the federation’s technical expert. The meeting, attended by coaches and representatives of the ten participating clubs, discussed all the technical and organisational matters and briefed them on the rules and regulations governing the competitions. For their part, all ten participating clubs completed their serious, intensive preparations ahead of taking on the challenge of the indoor Qatar Cup and winning the bet. The competition will certainly reflect how ready our clubs are for the season and give an early indication of which clubs are competing for the overall excellence shield for the new 2014-2015 season
