Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Saud, president of the Saudi Athletics Federation and board member of the Asian and International athletics federations, praised the efforts of Major General Dahlan Al Hamad in developing Asian athletics through numerous championships and hosting the seventh edition of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships. Prince Nawaf said his testimony regarding Qatar is always open to question given the eternal relationship between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and confirmed that Qatari organisation of athletics is beyond reproach and that there will not be better than it given the professionalism and excellence in organising championships.
Prince Nawaf confirmed that Saudi athletics is developing at a steady pace and that achieving success is only a matter of time, noting that they are building an outstanding generation of Saudi athletes, pointing to the ambitious programmes of the Saudi Arab federation to produce generations in athletics that achieve dominance for the queen of sports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
