Our world champion Mutaz Barshim soars in Germany with a new achievement

Our Olympic world champion Mutaz Essa Barshim achieved a new world-class result in the high jump during the German meeting held in the past few hours, as Barshim excelled at the Eberstadt meeting in Germany, dedicated solely to the high jump, taking a clear win over all his rivals with a mark of 2.41m, repeating what he had achieved at the Rome Diamond League meeting. Despite the number of competitors, Mutaz confirmed his superiority and his readiness for the IAAF Continental Cup, due to be held in Marrakech in the coming days, especially as he will represent Qatar and the Asian team at this major event. Khalifa Abdulmalik, head of jumps at the athletics federation, confirmed that our Olympic champion Mutaz Barshim’s result was very positive and confirms his readiness for upcoming events, especially as he beat all his rivals from countries across the world, including Canada, Japan and Germany, in the same event. Khalifa noted that Mutaz will take part in the Asian Games as well as the Continental Cup, in addition to a number of world meetings, in order to stay in the best possible form, and expressed his complete satisfaction with the new achievement, saying that the federation, led by Major General Dahlan Al Hamad, provides every resource to keep Qatari athletics champions succeeding in any event, especially as Qatari talent has always left its mark on the continental scene.

Our gold champion Mutaz Barshim told the German meeting’s website that he was pleased to repeat his mark and achieve complete success at the European and international event, saying the trophy was a positive expression and proof of his superiority, but the more important goal was to reach his best in the upcoming events, on which he would focus sufficiently to bring honour to Qatari athletics.
