Our national team competes in Asian cross country in Fukuoka, Japan

Our national athletics team’s delegation will travel to the Japanese city of Fukuoka in the coming hours to take part in the Asian Cross Country Championships, scheduled for 22 February, which will be attended by Major General Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad, president of the Qatar and Asian athletics federations and deputy president of the IAAF. Our national team’s delegation will be headed by assistant secretary Mohammed Suleiman, and will include board member Abdulrahman Al Nubi as team manager, in addition to our national team’s champions coming from training camps abroad. These championships are considered among the strongest in Asia, especially as some suggest the competition will effectively be at Gulf level within Asia, given the improving standards of several teams from Gulf Cooperation Council countries as well as East Asian countries. Our team has the opportunity to confirm its presence and achieve a new success befitting Qatari athletics, especially after its recent success in China, taking first place at the Asian Indoor Championships.
