Qatar’s champion Samuel Francis, winner of the 60m gold medal, confirmed that this success represents a big morale boost for him as part of his preparations for the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Poland next March. Samuel said, after regaining his physical and technical strength, that he is focusing heavily on the World Championships and is seeking to achieve a success there to add to Qatar’s achievements across various challenges. Samuel said he felt the strength of the competition from the heats stage onwards, which is why he focused on making the competition in China a genuine rehearsal to test his readiness, as he will come up against many champions in Poland.
