Our champions Femi, Musaab and Ashraf post their best results and reach the key round at the World Championships in China

Our world-class champion Femi Ogunode booked a place in the 100m semi-final after clocking 9.99 seconds today, Saturday, in Beijing at the World Athletics Championships. Ogunode, who holds the Asian record over the distance (9.93 seconds), finished first in his heat.

Oman’s Mubarak Al Harthi was eliminated after clocking 10.24 seconds.

Our talented champion Ashraf Al Saifi, a two-time world junior champion in the hammer throw, became the first Qatari athlete to reach the final of this event, after recording 76.51m today, Saturday, in the qualifying round for the final at the World Athletics Championships, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday. Observers expect a bright future for Al Saifi if he keeps up this form, especially given his young age and the world junior records he has set.

Egypt’s Mostafa El Gamal achieved the same feat, booking his place in the final with 75.48m.

Our talented champion Musaab Abdulrahman Balla qualified for the next round of the 800m after clocking 1:48.59, a sign of a positive start. We will bring you all the results in detail later
