A number of stadium champions toured Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar SC in open-top cars to greet the fans, who responded with warm, sustained applause and took photographs of them.
Race for people with special needs
As usual, the organising committee held a special race for people with special needs to make them feel part of the community, and they were greeted with loud applause.
The organising committee also held a race for schoolchildren, aimed at encouraging their love for the mother of sports.
Crowds enjoyed the concert
On the sidelines of the Doha Diamond League meeting, after the competitions on the track and field at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium had finished, an international concert was held. A number of leading singers performed, led by Gary Valenciano, Kyla and Paolo Valenciano of the Philippines, and Tadele Gemechu and Amsal Metki of Ethiopia. The large crowds enjoyed the wonderful show after already having enjoyed the feast served up by the stars of the mother of sports.
Huge international media interest
Many international media outlets took great interest in covering the Doha Diamond League meeting held on the track at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar SC. The area designated for media was packed with foreign journalists and correspondents interested in the mother of sports, especially the Diamond League, the IAAF’s premier official event, to which the federation attaches great importance given that it attracts the world’s stars who take part in its various races and events.
