The Qatar Athletics Federation’s general assembly will convene on Thursday, 15 December, chaired by Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad, at the Qatar Olympic Committee headquarters, with the attendance of all its members, club representatives and board members, namely: Mohammed Jassim Al Kuwari, Secretary General, Mohammed Suleiman, Assistant Secretary General, Abdulhakim Al Omari, Abdulrahman Al Nabi, and Mai Al Mohammadi. Attendees will discuss the items on the general assembly’s agenda, most notably: ratifying the minutes of the third general assembly meeting of 2015, confirming the quorum, the local championships schedule for the 2016-2017 sporting season, discussing the auditor’s report for the 2016 financial year, approving the draft budget for the 2017 financial year, electing the board for the 2016-2020 Olympic cycle, and any other business. It is worth noting that the Qatar Athletics Federation achieved numerous outstanding accomplishments during the past 2012-2016 cycle, proving itself worthy of the title of golden federation, achieving the best result in the history of Qatari sport by winning the silver medal through world champion Mutaz Barshim in the high jump at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
