Our golden world champion Mutaz Essa Barshim affirmed that he is very proud to belong to Aspire, where he learned a great deal, and that he always strives, alongside his coach, to achieve success and represent Qatar in a way that does it credit. He added that he considers this support to go beyond the usual concept of sponsorship, to something further: always being the best in the journey of athletics, noting at the same time that he is no stranger to the academy and takes great pride in the successes achieved by everyone who trained at Aspire. Barshim affirmed that he believes future generations will achieve a great deal of success given the work being done at Aspire, especially regarding technical and moral support, and that he believes the future is open to all of Aspire’s students, provided they show diligence, hard work and determination to achieve success. He expressed his appreciation for the place where his talent grew, and thanked the Aspire family and the Qatar Athletics Federation family led by Major General Dahlan Al Hamad, president of the Qatar and Asian federations and vice-president of the IAAF, in addition to thanking Khalifa Abdulmalik, head of the jumps section at the Qatar Athletics Federation and the federation’s executive director.
