Mohammed Suleiman, assistant secretary general of the Athletics Federation, said Arab athletics is the party benefiting from the development strategy seminar, as it helps achieve the desired goal of learning about all the new programmes in world athletics, since we live in an age of rapid work and great capabilities. He said: “There is no doubt that the athletics development strategy seminar has many positive aspects, starting with the wide participation, which reflects broad interest among all the Arab federations, continuing through the new technical work that helps develop future champions, and reaching the administrative work that provides the opportunity to learn about new horizons in athletics. I consider that Qatar athletics, like Arab athletics, succeeded in making the most of this event, and the board’s decision, under Major General Dahlan Al Hamad, to take part had a positive resonance with everyone.”
Mohammed Suleiman noted that Qatar athletics has achieved a great deal of success during the current year, but the most important thing is winning the right to host the 2019 World Championships, since such an event will have a positive impact on all Arab countries, not just one, and everyone will seek to be present at the first event of this scale in an Arab country.
