Mohammed Sulaiman, assistant secretary general of the Athletics Federation, stressed that the strong competition between clubs and the effective participation seen at the Qatar Cup indoor championship helped the event reach a very high level, despite the absence of many club champions who were away with the national teams. He said Al Sadd deserved every congratulation for their success, but at the same time he was pleased to see Al Rayyan return to the podium, along with Al Gharafa, and to see progress from Qatar SC, Al Arabi and Al Khor, though he hoped for some development from Al Wakrah and other clubs. He said Qatari athletics was in very good shape thanks to the strong cooperation between the federation and the clubs, since this cooperation helped achieve the desired goals and effective participation, and everyone in the athletics family was working for their country and to bring honour to Qatari sport
