The meeting hall of the Holiday Villa Hotel, base of the Gulf delegations, hosted the championship’s technical meeting, attended by Mohammed Jassim Al Kuwari, secretary general and championship director, Kuwait’s Saif Saeed Al Dosari, the championship’s technical delegate and deputy chairman of the technical committee, and Oman’s Hamdan bin Hamad Al Bushri
the championship’s administrative delegate, as well as Captain Abdulhakim Al Amri, head of the Qatar federation’s technical committee and Qatar’s representative and member of the GCC technical committee, alongside the chairman of the championship’s judges’ committee, plus the directors of the participating teams. All technical and organisational matters were discussed, along with confirming the final participation of the boys’ and girls’ teams, approving the schedule with a minor amendment adding the high jump event and moving the hammer throw to the closing day, Sunday, approving call-room and start procedures, and forming the athlete eligibility and appeals committees in line with the rules governing the athletics organising committee’s activities. Team directors were also briefed on doping-control instructions.
