Mohammed Jassim Al Kuwari, secretary-general of the Athletics Federation, praised the great support and constant backing given by our wise leadership and Qatar’s sports officials to the Diamond League meeting, which has enabled it to achieve these major gains and successes.
He said the higher organising committee, chaired by Major General Al Hamad, had set a clear strategy since the end of last year’s edition to build on its successes, an approach recognised by the IAAF and the Diamond League managers’ association, who awarded the Qatar meeting a certificate of excellence and quality.
Al Kuwari predicted a high-level meeting, especially with this year’s edition featuring a host of leading champions, and wished success to the athletics stars on the soil of sporting, generous Doha. He invited fans and lovers of the sport to arrive early at Qatar SC’s Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium to enjoy an outstanding and impressive meeting.
