Major General Dahlan Al Hamad opened Asian athletics coaches’ course

HE Major General Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad, president of the Asian and Qatar athletics federations and vice-president of the IAAF, will open an athletics coaches’ training course this morning at 9am at the Ezdan Hotel, on the sidelines of the first Asian Youth Championships, which will begin at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar SC

A large number of coaches from Asian countries are taking part in the course, which will be given by  experts from the IAAF, including Abdulmalek Al Habil, the IAAF’s development director, and lecturer Herbert Zengon.

The course forms part of Al Hamad’s plan to develop the technical workforce  for Asian athletics, something he has long dreamed of and is doing his utmost to turn into reality for everyone, which is why it came as no surprise that the continent renewed its trust in him by re-electing him unopposed to continue his work and fulfil his ambitions and dreams for Asian athletics, so that its stars can always stand on Olympic and world podiums. This is also why Qatar is hosting tomorrow the first edition of the Asian Youth Championships, to encourage countries to pay greater attention to this age group, which represents the brightest future for Asian athletics.
