Major General Dahlan Al Hamad arrives in Fukuoka, Japan

Major General Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad, president of the Qatar and Asian athletics federations and deputy president of the IAAF, has arrived in the Japanese city of Fukuoka and, as usual, kept a close eye on the technical preparations, receiving reports from the organising committee to ensure the championships are held without any technical shortcomings, especially as the president of the Asian Athletics Association and members of his executive board are looking towards a new phase of precision and professionalism in their work, in contrast to previous periods when athletics on the continent declined due to the previous federation president’s lack of attention to technical matters and his sole focus on holding championships without regard for the IAAF’s technical and organisational standards,

The federation president is expected to instruct a number of committees to prepare special reports on the Asian challenges from a technical standpoint, in order to discuss them in general at the Qatar federation’s third board meeting, to be held in Doha next March for the first time.

Continental federations had congratulated Dahlan Al Hamad on his arrival in Japan on the occasion of Qatar’s team’s success in topping the Asian continent in indoor athletics at the sixth championships held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou last week.
