Mai Al Mohammadi, athletics federation member and chair of the federation’s women’s committee, affirmed that great benefit had been achieved by taking part in the development strategy seminar organised in Sharm El Sheikh under the supervision of the IAAF and with wide Arab participation. She said: “I am happy to take part in this seminar as one of the participants, because from the very first hours I found a great deal of benefit in the programmes and techniques presented, since everyone seeks what is new, and that was present at the seminar. I hope there will be many more seminars, as they undoubtedly help provide benefit and allow any participant to pass that benefit on to their own family, in whichever federation or committee they belong to. I would like to thank federation president Major General Dahlan Al Hamad for supporting our participation in this seminar, as the benefit exceeded all expectations.”
Mai Al Mohammadi noted that Qatar athletics has always been, and remains, the focus of the world’s attention, not only the other Arab countries, with evidence being that Doha has become the world’s foremost sporting capital thanks to hosting major global championships, and that the success of hosting the 2019 World Championships is nothing but a reflection of the determination and resolve to achieve excellence.
