Legend Bolt proves he is the fastest

Jamaican hurricane Usain Bolt returned to confirm once again that, whatever decline his level might have suffered for various reasons, he can still sit on the throne of speed and remain the fastest man in the world over 100m — especially as his American rival Justin Gatlin was the one who sought the showdown between them. Bolt won the challenge with ease and was crowned the world’s fastest man after inflicting a heavy defeat on Gatlin, beating him by a fraction of a second. Bolt, who had been the talk of the athletics world before the race, clocked his best time of the season, 9.79 seconds, while the American Gatlin finished second in 9.80 seconds amid great disappointment. The Jamaican barely struggled in the race and sealed it at the finish line, celebrating with 70,000 spectators as the best in the world, while Trayvon Bromell came third in 9.92 seconds, as Bolt once again drew all the attention and left his rivals in tears.

Our champion Femi Ogunode Seun took part in the semi-final and missed out on reaching the final by one second in the race, after Femi clocked 10.0 seconds while China’s Su Bingtian advanced to the final with 9.99 seconds, leaving Femi with just the experience of appearing among the world’s sprint giants — Bolt, Gatlin, Bromell and Asafa Powell among the rest.
