Abdulhakim Al Amri, chairman of Qatar Athletics Federation’s technical committee, affirmed that the excellence and rise of several clubs to the top places was a positive sign that serves competition and reinforces the idea of striving for the best. Abdulhakim praised the strong competition among the clubs, calling it a strong start to the athletics season, and added that the technical committee had tried to combine three categories in the championship, apart from the youth category, since the younger age groups form the base of athletics from which future development stems.
Yousef Ahmed and the positive start
Yousef Ahmed, Athletics Federation’s financial director, expressed his happiness at the wonderful start of the new season’s championships for Qatari athletics with the cross country competitions, saying the championship had revealed great preparation by the clubs and their seriousness in pursuing titles, evidenced by what Al Khor Club achieved, coming on strongly like some other clubs. At the same time, he said what happened in the mini-cadets, cadets and juniors cross country would simply be a sign of the greater work needed by other clubs to reach the podium again, noting that Qatari athletics has continued to achieve great success in all domestic and international championships.
Talal Mansour and the Leader
Asia’s golden arrow Talal Mansour, head of Al Sadd’s athletics department, spoke of a strong desire for Al Sadd to reclaim its status as the leader of athletics among Qatari clubs. Talal Mansour said Al Sadd has an outstanding base of promising talents in athletics and is currently going through a transitional phase, but is capable of excelling in the rest of the Qatar Athletics Federation’s championships, and that even if it did not win the cross country title, it is capable of claiming the remaining championships, repeating the phrase “Al Sadd may fall ill, but it never dies.” Talal Mansour affirmed that the start of the season brought outstanding competition among the clubs, congratulating Al Khor and Al Ahli on what they achieved in the cross country, while affirming at the same time that “the Wolf’s cubs” are coming to reclaim their natural place at the top.
Al Emadi is happy

Al Emadi added that second place is an achievement that confirms the great work being done at Al Ahli, doyen of Qatari clubs, in athletics, thanking HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani, the club’s president, for his continued support of athletics, which is no surprise from him, affirming that Al Ahli’s athletics team will live up to expectations in this season’s championships.
