Khalifa Abdulmalik, director of national teams at the athletics federation and head of the delegation, congratulated talented champion Haroun on winning the world silver medal, praising his showing at this world indoor challenge, saying: “Abdalelah has proven he is made of precious mettle, he is rising fast and the future belongs to him, God willing, and we wish him success in the international events to come, most importantly the Rio 2016 Olympics.” Abdulmalik considered our champion’s silver medal a fine motivation for him ahead of the Rio Olympics, and said we are optimistic about the future of this champion, strong both physically and mentally, concluding by thanking and expressing gratitude to Qatar’s ambassadors at the World Indoor Championships, saying we must draw the lessons from our participation in the championships, which revealed much about our true level and where we stand relative to others, for we are not alone – just as we work hard, so do others – what matters most is continuing on the same path with the same spirit and determination, and stocking up on fuel for the stages ahead.
