Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed, president of the Saudi Athletics Federation and an IAAF member, expressed his delight at the great success achieved at the meetings of the Asian federation, and said this success owed much to the good leadership of Asian federation president Major General Dahlan Al Hamad, who is continually striving to energise Asian athletics and bring it to the best possible level. He confirmed that Saudi athletics would be present at the Asian Indoor Championships through an effective delegation capable of delivering a great deal, since the goal is to reach the best and achieve distinction despite the record entry and the strength of the competitors in every event and race. He said Asian athletics faces major challenges, and that there is a board of directors led by Major General Dahlan working to put forward a complete vision for comprehensive development and for supporting national federations in the period ahead, with the aim of all-round development, praising the great success Qatar continues to achieve in hosting every global or continental event.
