Hamad Kalkaba, president of the African Athletics Confederation: Al Hamad’s win means Asia is promised a bright future

Cameroon’s Hamad Kalkaba, president of the African Athletics Confederation, did not hide his immense happiness at Dahlan Al Hamad’s victory for the presidency of the Asian federation. Ahead of his own federation’s elections against his Djiboutian rival, Kalkaba said that Dahlan Al Hamad’s win of the presidency of the world’s most important athletics federation in terms of resources was a clear green light for Asia’s success in athletics, and that he was the right man for the continent. Kalkaba affirmed that he had known Al Hamad for years through the IAAF and through the International Military Sports Council (CISM), describing him as someone who works hard for success and works with full confidence to honour his country and serve athletics, and as the man who would succeed in leading the Asian continent.

Kalkaba congratulated the Asian federations on Al Hamad’s victory, saying it was the path to the Asian continent’s success on every level, globally and at the Olympics, and that through the work Dahlan Al Hamad set out in his election programme, the Asian continent is promised a bright future, according to the president of the African Athletics Confederation.
