Athlete Safety & Integrity
Safeguarding
Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants in Athletics, from young talents to elite athletes.
Safeguarding is key to ensuring the protection and wellbeing of children, young people, and adults at risk. Through partnerships with the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Aspire Zone Foundation—including Aspire Academy for youth development and Aspetar for medical support—we build on global best practices to pioneer excellence in athlete safety.
This page outlines our Safeguarding Policy and related procedures. All QAF-affiliated clubs, coaches, staff, and partners must adhere to these to promote a culture of zero tolerance for harm.
If you have any concerns regarding the safety of anyone involved in Athletics please report it to safeguarding@qaf.qa.
Anti-Doping
Qatar is committed to clean Athletics and supporting you—our athletes and coaches—in achieving excellence in fair and honest competition.
We have partnered with Qatar Anti-Doping Commission (QADC), the national anti-doping organization for the state of Qatar, to promote fair play. QADC is an independent, non-profit organization, that is responsible for:
- Promoting anti-doping awareness, education of athletes and their support staff.
- Testing athletes in and out of competition.
- Approving therapeutic use exemption (when athlete needs a medication which is on the banned list).
- Result management of violation cases.
Below, we explain key anti-doping topics and highlight tools like ADAMS (WADA’s online system for whereabouts and TUEs) and Global DRO (to check if medications are prohibited).
Got questions? Email QADC at info@qad.qa or call (+974) 4494 4902.
For more information and personalized guidance on staying compliant and competing clean, please reach out to QADC via their website.
