The technical committee of the Qatar Athletics Federation held its first meeting of the season
2009 / 2010 at 7pm on Thursday 22/10/2009 at the federation’s headquarters, attended by:
1 Mr Adel Mohammed Al Baker Chairman of the Technical Committee
2 Mr Eissa Abdullah Al Harami Vice-Chairman of the Committee
3 Mr Yaqoub Youssef Abdullah Committee member
4 Mr Khalifa Youssef Abdulmalik Committee member
5 Mr Dr Jabbar Rahima Al Kaabi Committee member
The agenda was discussed, opening with a welcome address by Mr Adel Mohammed Al Baker, Secretary General and Chairman of the Technical Committee, in which he thanked and expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the committee’s members and wished them success in their work for the current season. The agenda then moved on to discuss a request from Al Khor, Al Gharafa and Al Sadd clubs to postpone the first children’s athletics festival for clubs, originally scheduled for Monday 2/11/2009 at Al Rayyan club; it was decided to postpone the festival to Tuesday 24/11/2009 to give clubs time to register players in the Amal (hopefuls) category aged 9, 10 and 11. This was followed 
by discussion of the amendments proposed by the Speed Centre to the competitions regulations, which include encouraging clubs and coaches to focus on Qatari players and awarding Qatari players extra points in some events. Other agenda items were also discussed and the appropriate recommendations were adopted.
