Qatari Olympic champion Mutaz Barshim won first place in the high jump event at the international high jump meeting in Eberstadt, Germany, and champion Barshim managed to equal his personal best of 2.35 metres, with Britain’s Robert Grabarz finishing second with 2.33, while Russia’s Sergey Mudrov took third place with 2.30
Commenting on the win, champion Mutaz said “the German city of Eberstadt is a wonderful city to compete in, and conditions there were ideal,,,this title is important to me, especially after winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in London,, and despite not being fully ready, I managed to equal my best mark, and that is what I had hoped for”
