‘Barshim’ tops Sweden meeting
Our Olympic champion Mutaz Essa Barshim won first place in the high jump at the Sweden athletics meeting, clearing a notable height of 2.30m, at the start of his serious preparations during his foreign European training camp from 10 January to 24 February, ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Moscow next August. The golden jumper Barshim began his attempts in the competition at heights of 2.10, then 2.15, then 2.20, then 2.25, then 2.30m, with the next stage being a training camp in the Czech Republic starting 25 January. For his part, his coach Stanislav considered his start promising, as he showed his best physical, technical and mental form, wishing him success for the rest of his preparations.
