Al Sadd champion Henry Kiplagat succeeded in taking first place in the open men’s cross-country race held at Al Rayyan Park after beating all his rivals amid fierce and intense competition. Al Khor champion George Kibirtosirma finished second, Al Jaish champion Isaac Korir third, Al Arabi champion Collins Tabi fourth, Al Sadd champion Albeks Kibet fifth, Al Rayyan champion Zelim Baji sixth, Al Sadd champion Ali Daoud Saeed seventh, Al Rayyan champion Diji Rijas eighth, Al Rayyan champion Belioma Shoji Jalasa ninth and Al Gharafa champion Nibson Jerog tenth – Abdulrahman Saeed Hassan ninth, Al Jaish’s champion. As we noted, a number of club champions took part outside their own specialism to support their teammates, but what mattered was the closeness and intensity that marked the race from start to finish.
