The Al Manai siblings, the trio of Rashid, Mohammed and Sarah Ahmed Al Manai, represent an outstanding Qatari sporting family and fine ambassadors for Qatar’s mother of sports in Incheon, and have become the centre of attention, tracked closely by the Asian media. Mohammed Al Manai took part yesterday in the decathlon’s strongman event, and Israa Al Manai took part in the shot put events, while the eldest brother Rashid Al Manai contests today’s triple jump qualifying round. The maroon team also includes another pair of brothers, our Olympic champion Mutaz Barshim and his younger brother Moammar Barshim, winners of the gold and bronze in the high jump.
