Al Jaish’s Baraem topped the club standings in the Amal-category rankings at the second athletics festival for Amal players (aged 8-9), held at Al Rayyan the day before yesterday (Tuesday). Our promising champions topped the festival, deservedly taking first place with 77 points, while Al Rayyan finished as runners-up, also with 77 points — though Al Jaish’s Baraem’s wins in first place in more than one event earned them the title. Al Khor came third with 60 points, Al Sadd fourth with 55.5 points, Al Ahli fifth with 47.5 points, Qatar SC sixth with 29 points, Al Gharafa seventh with 26 points, Al Arabi eighth with 22 points, and Al Wakrah ninth with 20 points.

Competition and excitement.
The festival saw keen, exciting competition among the Baraem of the participating clubs in the second festival’s challenge, who showed good ability and skill across nine track and field stations: the 30m sprint, hurdles sprint, relay, “Formula,” rope jump, long jump, jump over hurdles, forward ball throw and javelin throw.

Champions crowned.

After the competition ended, Captain Abdulrahman Al Nubi, a board member, Captain Abdulhakim Al Omari, a board member and Technical Committee chairman, the officials, and Mai Al Mohammedi, a board member and head of the girls’ centre, presented trophies and medals to the Amal category teams finishing in the top places, with Al Jaish’s Baraem taking the first-place trophy, Al Rayyan the runners-up trophy, and Al Khor finishing third, amid great joy from the champions receiving their trophies.

Captain Al Shaib: Al Jaish’s Baraem are the seed of the future

For his part, Captain Sultan Al Shaib praised Al Jaish’s Baraem’s victory in the athletics festival title for the 8-9 age category, affirming that they represented the hope and future of the sport at Al Jaish club, and praising the impressive performance and level shown by the promising champions during their participation in the track and field events, where they displayed the high skills they had gained through training and translated them into physical and technical effort and performance on the ground. He considered their victory confirmation of the sound approach and good planning followed by athletics at Al Jaish club in building a solid foundation for the future. In closing, Captain Al Shaib dedicated the club’s new Baraem title to the board of directors, extending his profound thanks and gratitude to Brigadier Thani Al Kuwari, the club’s secretary general, for his support and encouragement of athletics at Al Jaish club.
