Al Fadala: The Doha Diamond League meeting was an exceptional technical, organisational and popular success

Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, secretary general of the athletics federation and director of the Doha meeting, said the meeting, held for the first time at Khalifa International Stadium, achieved an unparalleled success, according to the participants and the IAAF, who expressed their great admiration for the World Cup stadium, which will also host the World Athletics Championships in Doha for the first time in the region next summer
Al Fadala said the organising committee provided all the requirements and comforts, both for the large crowds who made a point of attending the stadium and following the various races, and for the local and foreign media who made a point of being present in force to cover the global event and convey the picture from the ground, with the organisational operation running perfectly, confirming Qatar’s excellence in this field through its great experience in hosting major sporting events..
He noted that the Doha meeting’s events took place in a wonderful atmosphere, and the good-sized crowd enjoyed the races and events and the outstanding levels put in by the world’s champions, and noted that the overall shape in which the Doha meeting was delivered at Khalifa International Stadium was a clear and explicit message to everyone about Doha’s readiness, from now, to host the World Cup in the best conditions, especially since most of the world’s champions took part in the Doha meeting in order to get to know the track and field at Khalifa Stadium, and everyone expressed their admiration for the World Cup stadium.
Al Fadala made a point of thanking the members of the organising committee and the working team, who played a starring role in the success of the launch of the Diamond League and its delivery in the best possible shape, both technically, organisationally and in terms of attendance.
Abu Issa said in remarks after the competition ended: Thank God we won the challenge, thanks to cooperation and working as one family, and I would especially like to mention everyone on the team who worked around the clock and spared no effort to honour the mother of sports and Qatari sport, and to deliver this global event in a fitting way.
