Abdulrahman Al Nubi, member of the Qatari athletics federation board, expressed his overwhelming happiness at the achievements made by Qatar athletics at the Asian Games, and Al Nubi said the generous support of our wise leadership is behind Qatar’s successes in all sports, and that without our leadership’s support these achievements would not have been possible, noting the follow-up of HE Major General Dahlan Al Hamad, president of the Qatari athletics federation, who has always followed and cared about the champions of Qatar athletics in their preparations and training camps for the sake of further effort to honour Qatar.
Al Nubi confirmed that they in the Qatari federation board had been expecting success for Qatar athletics with the greatest possible number of medals, but that sometimes certain factors intervene and reduce the number of medals, noting that expectations, in many cases, do not come true and place pressure on the champions, but that they are happy with this great achievement, which keeps Qatari athletics distinguished on the continent for four years.
Al Nubi confirmed that athletics’ next goal is the Olympics, but that this must pass through the World Championships, and Al Nubi said all Qatar athletics players must think about the Olympics and work hard for 2016, because the Olympic Games have great value in terms of achievements and all the champions in the world focus on them.
Al Nubi congratulated Qatar athletics’ champions on their achievements in Asia and said the future ahead of them in athletics is a great one and that they should focus even more on what is best for Qatar in the major challenges. Nor did Abdulrahman Al Nubi forget to congratulate Qatar’s handball champions who arrived on the same flight, saying they had achieved a great success for Qatar by taking gold from the Koreans on their own soil and among their own fans.
