Abdulrahman Al Nubi, a Qatar Athletics Federation board member, described Al Jaish’s Qatar Cup athletics title as a wake-up call for the bigger, more established clubs, and a sign of the qualitative progress the club has made across all age groups in a short period. He said athletics at Al Jaish had been born a giant, and, thank God, enjoyed the club officials’ support, encouragement and backing. Al Nubi congratulated the talented champions of the three clubs that took the top three places — Al Jaish, Al Sadd and Al Rayyan — wishing them further victories, and wished the remaining clubs success and good fortune in the Amir Cup, the most prestigious of championships.
