Abdulrahman Al Nobi, a member of the athletics federation’s board and manager of our youth national team, congratulated champions Ashraf and Ahmed Amjad Al Seifi on their achievement yesterday in the hammer throw, hoping for more medals in the remaining days of the championship, affirming that he expects stronger and tougher competitions in the coming days of the championship, and that every team is certainly seeking to win as many medals as possible to strengthen its standing on the continent, which is rich in young talent. Al Nobi said: “We hope our young players do well in the races and events over the remaining three days of the championship, and we support them continuously,” stressing at the same time that the participation of a large number of countries in this continental event confirms the great importance the continent’s countries attach to gatherings and presence at championships, because this adds to the talent and experience of the young players.
Regarding the absence of our full team from the championship, Al Nobi said: “We are at the end of the academic year and some players have exams, and without doubt we would have wished for the full national team to be present,” affirming at the same time that participation in the championship itself represents strong exposure for our players, who have the determination and resolve to achieve accomplishments in any championship they take part in.
