Abdulhakim Al Amri, federation board member and head of the technical committee, said the course had been successful and that participation by the trainees had been outstanding, with the majority of them young officials passionate about athletics. He noted that the course was part of the federation’s plans to prepare technical officials for the near and distant future, with the goal being the 2019 World Championships, which would be held on Qatari soil with Qatari technical officials. He confirmed that Qatari youth had shown great enthusiasm for joining the ranks of officiating through this course, and that the federation had also given young Qataris the opportunity to take part in this course and in future ones
He noted that there would be many more courses in the future to develop officiating, with an NTO-category officials’ course to coincide with the Diamond League meeting next May. Abdulhakim praised the great discipline and high spirit shown by the course participants, wishing everyone success
